Bhutan Tours Booking Terms and Conditions

Understand Sokshing Travel’s Bhutan tour booking conditions before planning your trip to the Kingdom of Happiness. These terms cover payments, the government-mandated Sustainable Development Fee (SDF), cancellation policies, mandatory travel insurance, and more – ensuring transparent, sustainable, and hassle-free Bhutan tours.

These Terms are effective as of December 27, 2025, and subject to change.

1. Booking and Payment

• A deposit of 50% of the total tour price (excluding Sustainable Development Fee if paid separately) is required to confirm the booking.
• For bookings within 60 days of departure, full payment is required upfront.
• The balance is due no later than 60 days prior to departure.
• Payments are accepted via bank transfer. Clients bear all associated fees.
• Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit.

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): The government-mandated SDF (currently USD 100 per person per night, subject to change; 50% discount for children aged 6–12, free for children under 6) is payable in advance and handled separately per Bhutan Tourism Department guidelines. It is refundable for cancelled or shortened trips (minus bank charges) via the Department of Immigration.

2. Cancellation by Client

Cancellations must be in writing. Charges (as percentage of total tour price, excluding refundable SDF) apply from the date of receipt:

• More than 45 days prior: 15% + bank fees
• 45–10 days prior: 45% + bank fees
• Within 10 days or no-show: 100% (no refund)

Special Cases:

• Luxury accommodations: Subject to individual hotel policies (advised at booking).
• Flights (Drukair/Bhutan Airlines): Governed by airline terms.
• SDF: Refundable per government rules.

3. Postponement and Amendments by Client

Postponements may be possible subject to availability and supplier terms. Contact us promptly; additional costs may apply. Amendments (e.g., date changes) incur administrative fees.

4. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend (and in some cases require) comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation/interruption, medical emergencies, evacuation, and personal liability. Proof may be requested. Without adequate coverage, clients assume all risks, including financial loss from unforeseen events.

5. Changes or Cancellation by Sokshing Travel

We reserve the right to alter itineraries, accommodations, or services due to force majeure (e.g., weather, safety, supplier issues, government directives). Comparable alternatives will be provided where possible, with prompt notification. No compensation is payable for necessary changes. In rare cases, we may cancel tours; full refunds (excluding non-refundable items) will be issued.

6. Liability and Responsibility

Sokshing Travel acts as an agent for third-party providers (hotels, airlines, guides, transport). We are not liable for loss, damage, injury, delay, or inconvenience caused by suppliers, force majeure, or events beyond our control.

Clients are responsible for:

• Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), visa/permit (arranged via us), and health/vaccination requirements.
• Compliance with Bhutanese laws and respectful behavior.

7. Client Responsibilities and Conduct

Clients must provide accurate information and disclose any medical conditions or special needs. We reserve the right to refuse or remove disruptive travelers without refund.

8. Complaints and Disputes

Any issues should be reported immediately to allow resolution. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 14 days of tour end. Disputes are governed by Bhutanese law.

9. Privacy

We collect and process personal data in compliance with applicable laws for booking and visa purposes only.

By proceeding with payment or confirmation, you acknowledge having read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
